Town of Kent

The Town of Kent seal shown on the Home Page is crest shaped. At the top, boldy enclosed in a banner is the word "KENT", below it in much smaller letters is "Connecticut". The body of the crest is divided into five sections, each containing a symbol of the development of the town. Across the entire midsection is an open book with the words "Settled 1720" and "incorp. 1739". To the left of the book is a church, to the right, a school. The upper third of the crest is divided into two sections by a large diamond shaped arrowhead. The left corner contains a crown, a reminder of early sovereign rule. The upper right corner contains a cow and stone iron furnace, both early and important industries. Finally, the bottom third of the crest contains a large gear, symbol of local industry.

Welcome to the Town of Kent Home Page. During your browse on our homepage you will find that Kent on the Internet is much like Kent in reality. It is a friendly, diverse, beautiful, and interesting community in the northwest hills of Connecticut. Located about 30 miles north of Danbury and on the New York State line, it is a town you can get to quickly and get around in easily. Residents and visitors alike appreciate the recreational opportunities of state and local parks and the shopping in our commercial district.
